At Mosswater Co., we believe that nature belongs in everyday spaces.

Whether it's a planted aquarium in a living room, a thriving terrarium on a desk, or a collection of houseplants brightening a home or workplace, natural spaces have a way of bringing life, beauty, and calm into our daily routines. Our mission is to help people create and enjoy those spaces, no matter their experience level.

What began as a passion for aquariums, aquatic plants, and freshwater ecosystems has grown into a business dedicated to connecting people with nature through carefully selected natural décor. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to experience the benefits of keeping living ecosystems, whether underwater or on land.

As hobbyists ourselves, we understand the excitement of setting up a first tank, finding the perfect plant, or watching a carefully designed ecosystem thrive. That's why we focus on providing healthy plants, quality livestock, and practical advice that helps our customers succeed.

Locally Grown, Carefully Selected

A growing part of Mosswater's inventory is produced right here in Ontario.

Aquatic plants are propagated in-house, and freshwater livestock such as Neocaridina shrimp and Endler's livebearers are being bred in dedicated systems. Live food cultures and other organisms are also being developed as the operation expands. When something can’t be produced in-house, sourcing is approached with the same care. Health, quality, and suitability for the hobby come before simply having the largest possible catalogue.

Every plant, fish, shrimp, and hardscape piece is selected with care. We prioritize quality, health, and sustainability, ensuring that the products we offer are items we'd be proud to use in our own homes and aquariums.

Mosswater is working toward a broader collection of aquatic plants, freshwater livestock, live food cultures, terrarium organisms, and natural materials, while continuing to improve the systems used to grow and raise them, and education will remain an important part of that.
